Shoot and Scoot Episode 67 – The one where we turn the podcast into a wildly inappropriate political platform

With (no) apologies to Battle Rankings.
Duncan, Eddie and Lee return with another episode of Shoot and Scoot to talk about what they have been up to in “Faces, Bases, Something and Something”, what we have been playing in “News from the front”, ponder 90th leichte Afrika Division in “You and Whose Army?” and answer your questions in An Officer Answers.

As always , you can listen to the podcast on Soundcloud, subscribe on iTunes or use the embedded audio below.  We are also now on Spotify and also Youtube, with an image augmented version of the podcast.

An Officer Answers

01:02:15 – Petter asks “Soooo, as everyone is focusing on MW desert… Does this mean I need to paint yet more panzer III but this time in desert yellow?”

01:03:50 – Porky Seven states “I must declare my unhappiness. Whatever happened to the Bishop (SPG)? I seem to recall it was issued as a community card modifying the Priest artillery card. They should have at least been included as a command card. So what in Wavell’s name is going on here???”

He then asks “I’d like to ask one more question, that is a little more rules relevant for Team Yankee. The latest FM- fm Nov 2021 has an explanation about lines of sight. Could it be that this changes the game ? Before it ( the latest FAQ) seemed that single level houses could interdict lines of sight. With this FAQ, does line of sight become more realistic? If so, would this mean that the game would slow down some while lines of sight are being determined?”

01:07:45 – Scott asks “Which of the British MWMs made of Unobtanium is the best bang for the buck?”

01:09:10 – Darren asks “May be too late, but what would be the ideal objective marker to gift Mr. Turner to use at the vaunted ETC?”

01:10:30 – Chris asks “My question is why do you think the Allies got so many more options with the midwar monsters than the Germans? For example I have the old halftrack mounted 8.8 tank hunter model I want to assemble and use.”

01:11:35 – Andrew asks “I have a hankering to run a Team Yankee NATO force. I was thinking a Canadian force with a mech company and Leopard 1s and a French AMX-10RC formation with VABs as Allied support. Trying to decide on American support with Abrams, Cobras, and Warthogs or West Germans with Leopard 2s and PAHs. Thoughts?”

01:14:35 – Kyle asks “Greetings from California! How should I build a late war Soviet list when most of my opponents are using pakfront PaK 43s? If the answer is to use infantry instead of tanks, what noises can I make that will be as much fun as tank noises?”

01:18:10 – Captain Jesus asks “What would be the best way to proxy a Free French army in mid war? In particular I’d like to make French Foreign Legion army.”

01:19:30 – Michael asks “What niche blister of the SKU-crazy FoW days do you miss the most and why?”

01:22:00 – Vincent asks “In a German tank list (mainly Pz III shorts), if you had to drop one unit because of point limit, would you:
-drop the infantry unit?
-drop the artillery?
-make the tank platoon smaller?
It’s hard to get everything you need in a German Pz list, I have to make sensible choices…
Thanks for your great work, I wish you the best for 2022.”

01:25:40 – Cameron asks “The unit you are most excited about from the upcoming releases after mid war desert?”

01:32:20 – Alex asks “As an Italian player (I play Italy, I’m not Italian. At least I don’t think so), how do you think the long semovente and P40 will shake up Italian listing? I have a feeling that the P40 will clock in similar to the long Pz4, maybe a point cheaper.”
He then asks “Second question if it’s allowed! Should we start playing higher point Midwar games with formation caps? Seems like it would open up for the monsters and solve the armored car/light tank problem in one go.”

Events

01:37:50 – We discuss upcoming events including DAK DAK Go and how Judas Eddie is getting on with the ETC prep.

Shoot and Scoot (and Hidden Track)

01:47;30 – We Shoot and Scoot from another episode!
